Biden Administration Announces $25.5B in Provider Relief Funding
The Biden Administration announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will make available $25.5 billion in funding to assist providers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Of this funding, HHS will make available $17 billion for the provider relief funding (RPF) program, which will be phase 4 of the program authorized under the CARES Act of 2020. Updated Guidance for States Post-Public Health Emergency
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated its guidance to states related to the resumption of normal state Medicaid following the conclusion of the public health emergency. The updated guidance contains provisions that impact the way states can approach Medicaid renewals and redeterminations, including addressing pending enrollment actions and the redetermination of Medicaid eligibility. Federal Mask Mandate to Expand
The Biden Administration announced an expansion to the federal vaccine mandate to include any health care provider receiving Medicaid or Medicare funding. The announcement also calls for private sector employers with more than 100 employees to require vaccination or mandatory regular testing.
