
As reported by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), nursing homes need financial support from Congress to avoid closures stemming from the financial shortfalls exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. AHCA/NCAL estimates that the industry could face up to $94 billion dollars due to increased costs stemming from the pandemic, with over 16,000 nursing homes at risk for closure because of the mounting costs.
